Zippers from Northern Italy
Metal parts play an important role in the durability of our bags. A high-quality main material such as leather is not enough, we also need high-quality details. We cooperate with the Italian company Lampo, who supplies us with the zippers used in our bags.
The Lampo zipper factory has been in operation since 1887 in Northern Italy, near Milan. The company's operations combine strong craftsmanship and modern technological expertise, resulting in durable zippers. The high quality of the metal details is important to us, as durable parts allow us to increase the longevity of our bags. If one bag is used for a long time, there is no need to immediately buy a new one and increase the environmental load.
FOUNDED: 1887
EMPLOYEES: OVER 300
LOCATION: PALAZZOLLO SULL'OGLIO, ITALY
A precise process creates a high-quality result
We want to be as transparent as possible about the materials used behind our bags, because as the wearer of the bags, you deserve to know the story of the bag - down to the smallest detail.
Lampo zippers are made of brass and zamak, and all parts used in production come from Italy. Lampo takes care of every step of the zipper production itself, for example, each zipper tooth is ground individually to ensure the high quality of the zippers.
The Lampo factory is located in Palazzolo sull'Oglio, Italy, close to the Clio factory, where all Lovia bags are made. From the Lampo factory, the zippers are shipped directly to the Clio team, where the bags are finished with zippers and then they are ready to go to their new homes.
In 2021, Lampo has focused on developing responsibility, which covers not only production but also the perspective related to human well-being.

Greetings from the Palazzolo sull'Oglio factory
We want to give our partners a chance to have their voices heard, because without them the sketches we design would not become concrete products. Here are some greetings from Lampo and snippets of everyday life at the factory, just as it appears in Palazzolo sull'Oglio.
"We are committed to reducing the impact of our own operations on the planet. That's why we are constantly looking for new solutions to reduce the burden caused by our products."
- Annalisa Venturelli, Area Manager, Lampo
Where could we do better?
By using metal parts, we enable our bags to last a long time, as metal is highly resistant to wear and tear and does not tarnish with use. The origin of metals is a common challenge in the industry, as tracing the original production chain is difficult. In the future, we want to invest more and more in finding out the background of the metals we use. We use metal details in our bags very carefully and only when the durability of the metal is important for extending the life of the bag.
