As protection for a precious treasure

Protective bags for bags

Protecting bags
Lovia bags come with a high-quality protective bag. When your bag is not in use and resting at home, it is always a good idea to protect it from the sun, dust and scratches. It is also a good idea to pack your Lovia treasure in a protective bag if you are going on a trip.
The protective bags are made of 100% recycled cotton, manufactured by Finnish company Pure Waste. Their operations are based on collecting cutting waste from the textile industry and recycling this valuable resource. Utilizing surplus material is one of the biggest similarities between Pure Waste and Lovia. Pure Waste is a pioneer in the use of recycled materials in Finland, and with their operations they aim specifically for a larger change within the industry. By their example, they show that a change in a more sustainable direction is possible when we are ready to give it time and commitment.

Recycled cotton
The cotton used in Lovia's protective bags is recycled from raw cotton waste, which is used to make new fabric. Using recycled cotton saves 20,000 liters of water per kilo compared to the amount of water required to grow a new equivalent batch. No dyes or washing chemicals are needed in the manufacturing process.
"Lovia's operating model - utilizing locally produced recycled materials in its products - is the most ecological way for a fashion brand to operate. We are honored to be part of Lovia's story," says Hannes Bengs, founder of Pure Waste, about the years of collaboration.
The material is used to create ready-made protective bags at Ronderstor Design's sewing shop in the village of Liivamäki, Estonia.
